The Civil War fascinated me the most because the conflict did THREE things that was the reason WHY it started:
-The Union (the North) fought for the reunification of the country, since the it was the South’s attack on Fort Sumter, a federal army base, that started the war.
-Slavery was THE biggest issue of the time, and the ONLY way to end the “peculiar institution” was to fight the war and WIN it, with the help of slaves who were enlisted in the Union Army with President Abraham Lincoln’s support (tepidly).
Saving the ENTIRE country as a whole. The splitting of the states not only affected BOTH sides, but the country as a whole. If continued, there would be NO nation.
