What Experiences in Life Helped Me Grow

There are a lot of things that I went through over the years, some good, some bad, and sometimes others out of the ordinary that even I can’t even explain. There are a lot of things I experienced but the one thing that I went through as a FULL experience was just growing up altogether because once you hit a certain age you become an adult. Leaving high school back in 1995 and knowing what to do afterwards were questions that I had to think about. Well, I already knew that I was going to attend college, there’s no question about that, but then I thought about working while in school. Years ago I had the attitude of not wanting to work while I was in school because I felt that working either full or part time would interfere with my studies and then I would start taking a backslide toward failure because of the conflicting actions.

My first experience of working was fine. I was in high school working at a nursing home during the evenings while being a freshman and I thought the load of both would be overwhelming. It was at first, but in time I started getting my groove on with handling both and making sure that one didn’t interfere with the other let alone interlock with each other, otherwise, I’d be thrown off balance. Leaving high school and going to college was simple, then I asked myself if I wanted to continue working while goiong for higher degrees like my Associates or Bachelor’s (which I both got five years apart). That type of experience of trying to juggle both school and work was the ultimate challenge for me and I’m proud to say that I’ve done pretty good so far for the last 30 plus years and I’m STILL going strong. Eventhough I graduated from high school and college, I have to say that the toughest experience that I had was to tackle both work and school at the same time and yes, I defenitely succeeded and doing a lot better this very day!
